Which Christmas Shops in Madrid to Skip and Hit

Last weekend, the city of Madrid transformed itself into a Spanish Christmas Wonderland. With decorations around every corner, flocks of people walking its sidewalks, and light illuminating each corner, you can feel the city come to life but also sense an overwhelming vibe. Going to Gran Via on a Saturday afternoon isn't for the faint of heart nor is it for most people foreign to Madrid so stick around know the places to go to (and avoid) while checking off everyone on your list!

Returning to a City You (Once) Loved and Moving On

When I studied abroad in Seville the spring of 2014, I knew I was going to have the time of my life, live it up with my best friend, and drink numerous amounts of wine while dancing the night away. What I didn't know was that my anticipation and excitement to study abroad would progressively snowball into this overwhelming, deep, unconditional love for this beautiful city. How could I love a city so much? How did I ever get so lucky to live here? Similar questions to these popped into my head every single day I woke up in this majestic city. There was life at every corner, always something to do, and the passion of the culture lingered in the air and in between the centuries old, moorish buildings.

Guide to San Juan, Puerto Rico

Over the summer, I finally took a trip to the homeland, Puerto Rico to visit my family and to marvel over the spectacular island for the first time in five years. It’s hard to think that I hadn’t been back in so long- so as you can imagine, a few things had changed since my last visit. With its spectacular, pristine beaches, it’s flavorful cuisine, and charming people, la isla del encanto has so much to offer.

Tasty Little Havana with Miami Culinary Tours!

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure to join Miami Culinary Tours in one of of their food tours in Little Havana. If you are unfamiliar with the food tour trend, it's essentially a different (and tasty) alternative than your regular tour. While a traditional tour provides explains to you the history and background of the city, a food tour does just that but adding a cultural twist- with food! In Little Havana Miami, there is no better way to really get a feel of the Cuban culture than by tasting your way through Calle 8. The tasty treats throughout the tour along with the enriching background of the Caribbean island transplanted in Miami will have you saying, "daleeee!" (or is that just me?)

A Wine Lover's Guide to A Weekend in La Rioja

On Valentine’s Day a while back, Carlos and I ventured out for a weekend getaway to La Rioja where I did what I do best....drink some good ol' vino. Although we were there for just a weekend, we were able to explore and enjoy the Rioja region that is rich in it's amazing grapes and vineyards, including discovering a bit of the city of Logroño. From the details of the bodega wine tours, where to stay, how to get there, and what I wish I should of done- this post is for all my fellow wine-lovers!

Life Update and Adventures Ahead!

Hi guys! So a fews posts ago, I promised I'd explain why I've been MIA, what's been going on with my life, and what ahead in the future this summer. As you can see from my instagram updates, I'm currently stateside for the rest of the summer and super excited for the adventures ahead. These past three months have honestly been crazy, super busy, and almost overwhelming. With work, attempting to go to the gym a few times a week, and studying for the GRE (while also trying to have some sort of social life), it's been impossible to blog. With that said, the busy days are over and I'm looking forward to studying and blogging a whole lot more! Here's what I'll be up to for the next few months:

Hotel Review: Hotel Regina Barcelona

A couple of months ago, I stayed that the Hotel Regina in Barcelona conveniently located near Plaza Catalyuna and steps away from La Rambla. This trip marked my third time in BCN so the welcome and beauty of the hotel was a great way to spend a relaxing, leisurely trip in Spain's second largest city.

Hotel Review: Mama Shelter Hotel in Marseilles

A while back in September, Carlos and I took a weekend trip to Marseilles in the South of France to catch the last rays of the summer sun. While looking for a place to stay at, I kept in mind the vibe and ambiance of the hotel which was more important this time than in other trips since I was looking for a place to relax and do a little less touring than usual.

Two Days in Miami Beach

Hello and happy New Year! I am back in Madrid after a much needed holiday vacation with my family back in the states. Although I'm happy to be back in Madrid (which is pleasantly starting to feel like home!), I must say I'm deeply missing Miami and it's sunny, beautiful weather. Although going through my pictures of bright sunny beaches and delicious cocktails is the closest thing to torture, here are the top four places not to miss if you make a quick trip to the 305.
